Last days in Tassie - Burnie

Anyway, it was beautiful when I managed to look at it and we walked back across. Check the photo's.
It was less than 2 hour drive to Burnie where Anna grew up. We took in a chocolate shop on the way - long way to come for Belgian chocolate!
We stayed with Anna's sister Cynthia & husband Bob who have this great built on stilts with great view over the harbour. On Friday we went to the beach at Boat Harbour for lunch - another beautiful beach! The next day Bob drove up to Cradle Mountain. There had been a lot of bush fires in the area but we were ok. There had been no rain for months but the jinx hit again when we arrived and the clouds opened. So after bush fires there was flooding - it felt like time to pull out the boat building plans.
We went to visit Anna's sister-in-law Cathy who's family came from Ireland. We take travel, easy communication etc so much for granted! Cathy had a book with photo's & post cards from relatives who had gone to fight in the Great War, some of whom never came back and the last communication was a postcard with Happy Christmas.
The seafood here is amazing, even if I don't like oysters. Tassie oysters are famous
